CNC Machinist Turner / Setter / Operator / Programmer

Due to our increasing workload and losing a member of staff due to retirement a position has become available in our Turning department. The ideal candidate will possess both skills and time served experience in Programming, Setting, and the Operation of a BRAND NEW CNC Doosan 2100b Lathe with Bar Feed within our modern Air Conditioned facility.

Normal working hours are between 07.30 and 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 07.30 to 13.30 on Fridays. Overtime is available depending on workload.

Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Extensive experience as a Turner/Setter/Programmer
  • Extensive knowledge of Turning methods and manufacturing techniques aimed at optimal manufacturing stability and keen cycle times
  • Knowledge of CNC controls, Fanuc language and be able to set a CNC lathe to a high standard independently
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & specifications etc
  • Continually assess tool condition and maintain as necessary
  • Self-inspect own work in accordance with our ISO 9001-2015 Quality System
  • Ensure all tasks undertaken are performed in accordance with company requirements
  • To maintain good housekeeping standards
  • To ensure safe working practices are maintained
  • Strong problem solving ability with proven experience and thinking outside the box
  • Ability to establish & develop relationships and be a good team player
  • Knowledge of Engineering requirements
  • Good understanding of machining techniques
  • Skilled in planning methods of machining
  • Able to work using own initiative and unsupervised or as part of a team
  • Well organised and dependable
  • All candidates will be expected to follow the Health & Safety requirements set by the Company including annual Occupational Health checks.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
